Description | No IP address is available to hand out to the dial-in client. |
Event Information | According to the information from a newsgroup post: If youre using a static IP range, it is possible that you have more clients connected than you do available IPs in that range. The best way to solve this problem would be to simply make the range larger (while making sure you dont intrude on any of your local clients). Another possibility is that you have exceeded the configured number of ports for PPTP connections, meaning that new connections are not able to get an IP. How to check this: 1. Open the Routing and Remote Access snap-in (from the Administrative Tools menu) 2. Right-click on the server and select properties. 3. Click on the IP tab 4. Check to see if you are using DHCP or "Static address pool". Make sure you have enough IPs defined for your clients. For the number of ports, close the server properties tab and open the server node in the snap-in. 1. Right-click on ports and choose "Properties". 2. Click on the WAN Miniport (PPTP) and click "Configure..." 3. Check the "maximum ports" setting. I believe it defaults to 5. You may need to make this larger. |
