| Event Information | CAUSE: You are trying to back up to a tape device that does not support one or more properties that are essential for a successful SQL Server backup. Some examples would be a tape drive that does not support the block size specified or does not support tape mark/rewind handling. Keep in mind that just because the drive is supported for NTBackup does not necessarily mean it is supported for SQL Server backups. RESOLUTION: 1. Verify with your hardware vendor that the device and media are supported with this version and edition of SQL Server. 2. Upgrade your device drivers to the latest available version. 3. Back up your SQL Server database to a supported device. |
