| Event Information | CAUSE: When installing Microsoft® SQL Server™ on an NTFS partition, make sure that the NTFS file permissions allow read/write access. Otherwise, this error message may appear in the Microsoft Windows NT® application log (for each installation attempt). RESOLUTION: Ensure that the NTFS file permissions allow read/write access. In addition, the SYSTEM account should have full-control rights to the computer. It is recommended that everyone using the computer have full-control rights, but that the NTFS partition not be shared. |
