Event Information | According to Microsoft: RESOLUTION: To resolve this issue, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services. 2. Right-click Microsoft Exchange System Attendant, and then click Stop. 3. Right-click Microsoft Search, and then click Stop. 4. Run the Recreatedefpol.exe tool. 5. Log off Windows, and then log back on as an administrator. 6. Insert the Exchange Server CD into your computers CD drive or DVD drive. 7. Click Start, click Run, type CD_Drive:\Path_Of_i386_Folder\setup /domainprep, and then click OK. This resets the permissions for Exchange Server. 8. Click Start, click Run, type secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy /enforce, and then click OK. 9. Click Start, click Run, type secedit /refreshpolicy user_policy /enforce, and then click OK. 10. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Event Viewer. 11. In the Application log, verify that the SceClil 1704 event is recorded. 12. In Services, right-click Microsoft Exchange System Attendant, and then click Start. 13. Right-click Microsoft Search, and then click Start. Exchange Server now has the required permissions. |
