This error is often paired with an additional error that will give more details on why the connnection failed. RESOLUTION: Follow these steps: 1. If additional errors are reported, use them to troubleshoot the cause of this message. 2. Verify that basic ODBC connectivity to the SQL Server instance works for trusted authentication. 3. Verify that the "Deny Access" option is not checked for any group your login account or the SQL Server startup account belongs to. |
