| Event Information | If you install the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.7 update, the
SharePoint Portal Server service may not start, and you may see a series of
event ID ( 24587 from SharePoint Portal Server, 9542 from MSExchangeIS, 3057
from Microsoft Search) including 163874 from SharePoint Portal Server. WORKAROUND: To work around this issue, set all three of the following SharePoint Portal Server services to Manual before you install the MDAC 2.7 update. • Microsoft Exchange Information Store (MSExchangeIS) • Microsoft Search (MSSearch) • SharePoint Portal Service (MSDMServ) After you have finished installing the MDAC 2.7 update, reset the services that are listed in this section to Automatic, and then restart SharePoint Portal Server. |
