You can test this by running the following command from the command prompt on the source machine: ping <machine name> To resolve a machine name to an IP, you need to have at least one of the following: - WINS enabled and set up correctly for your environment - DNS servers with proper entries for the target server - An entry in the HOST or LMHOSTS file |
