Description | The Inter-Site Messaging Service SMTP Transport plug-in failed to add the following SMTP routing domain:d5fd5db1-4b9c-4298-88af-5f0898d5a793._msdcs.aap.jhu.edu.This domain is needed by the SMTP service in order to accept incoming mail using this name.Other replication partners will receive errors when sending mail to this name until the problem is corrected. |
Event Information | According to News Reader: It may help you:Please verify that the SMTP service is installed and functioning correctly;also verify that ADSI is installed and working on this system. As a workaround, you may try to add the domain manually using the SMTP Service Manager. The error message is as follows:The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. 1. Rename the SmtpSvc and IISAdmin service in the registry the server should not pick that the IIS service is installed. The registry path is: HKLM\System\CCS\Services. After you rename the services reboot the machine and you should be set to go. 2. These errors occur becuase the IISAdmin service has been disabled or stopped. A likely cause for this might be if someone were trying to protect themselves against the Nimda virus and stopped this service or uninstalled IIS. Restarting the IISAdmin Service should solve this problem. 3. If IIS is installed, uninstalled and than re-install. |
