Description | The File Replication Service paused because the size of a file exceeds the staging space limit. Replication will resume only if the staging space limit is increased. To change the staging space limit, run regedit. Click on Start, Run and type regedit. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SYSTEM, CurrentControlSet, Services, NtFrs, Parameters, and the value "Staging Space Limit in KB". |
Event Information | According to Microsoft: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Ntfrs\Parameters Data type: REG_DWORD Range :0x0–0xFFFFFFFF (KB) Default value: 0xA1220 (660,000 KB = 660 MB) Description Specifies the maximum amount of disk space that the File Replication service (FRS) can use to store staging files. FRS uses staging files to encapsulate the data streams and attributes associated with each replicated file or directory object. The staging file is transferred among replica members, which use it to replicate the object. When the space consumed by staging files reaches the value of this entry, inbound replication is suspended. FRS tries to release space by replicating staging files to all outbound partners. Typically, staging files reach this limit because FRS cannot offload files to an outbound partner that connects infrequently. This entry does not exist in the registry by default. You can add it by using the registry editor Regedit.exe. Activation Method You can add this entry or change its value while FRS is running. You do not need to restart FRS to make the change effective. |
