Description | Service encountered an error while logging to the debug log file |
Event Information | "According To Microsoft: Cause: The DFS Replication service cannot write to the specified location of the debug logs. The volume might be out of space, or the DFS Replication service may not have permission to modify the debug log files. Resolution: Use the following command to to locate the directory where the DFS Replication service is configured to write logs: dfsrdiag dump machine config Verify that the volume hosting the logs has sufficient disk space and that the DFS Replication and local System services have read and write permissions to the specified location. If the configured location has no space, create space by deleting files, or change the location where logs are written using the following command: wmic /node:""<target DFSR computer>"" /namespace:\ oot\microsoftdfs path DfsrMachineConfig set DebugLogFilePath=""<target local file path> If the DFS Replication and local System services do not have read and write permissions for the specified location, make the appropriate changes in the Services snap-in. |
