Description | OFO: Snapshot error (0x16): Directory cant be removed. |
Event Information | VSS Snapshot has the following requirements: 1. There should be at least one local NTFS volume on the target system being snapped. 2. There should be at least 100 MB of free disk space for each volume to be snapped. This requirement is very strict. Even if you have 99MB of free space, VSS snapshot will fail. Note: a. Both of these requirements are Microsoft Shadow Copy requirements and are enforced by VSS. There are no workarounds for meeting these requirements. b. The error code returned by VSS is VSS_E_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE. If the "OFO: Snapshot error (0x16): Directory cant be removed" error is logged, check the Application Event Log (Source: VSS) for more details. The error will be similar to: Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Cannot find diff areas for creating shadow copies. Please add at least one NTFS drive to the system with enough free space. The free space needed is at least 100 Mb for each volume to be shadow copied. There may be additional entries logged in the System Event Log (Source: VolSnap). |
