Description | Failed to open attachment '%3'. Error: '%4' |
Event Information | According to Microsoft : Cause : This event is logged when vhd file failed to open the attachment. Resolution : Retry Image You may get this failure if the image, connection, and/or permissions are mismatched. For example, an image file can be a virtual hard disk (.vhd file), or a “virtual” DVD disc (.iso file). If a text file with a .txt file name extension were renamed with a .vhd file name extension, you would get an error that the image is not valid. If you attempted to attach a .vhd virtual hard disk to a SCSI controller and that controller is not supported by the operating system, you would also get an error. You might also get this error if the image is valid, but in a different location than specified, or in the location specified, but not accessible by the user credential. Check and ensure a valid image exists, has the right permissions, and is attached. Verify : The vhdsvc service is displayed in a running state in the service control manager and all the operations on vhd files complete successfully. |
