Description | Ultrium device driver logging event ID 11 |
Event Information | According to IBM Cause: Running TSM server process checkout libvol 3583lib checklabel=no force=no remove=bulk results in event ID 11 logged to the windows system event log by IBM SSD Ultrium device driver. Resolution: IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Windows Server 5.2.3.1 IBM 3583 tape library with LTO generation 2 drives. SCSI HVD attached. The TSM server activity log shows no error but successful completion of the checkout process only. From the TSM server and IBM SSD device driver traces we found that TSM is always checking out volumes starting with EE port element address 16. When looking to the TSM server trace it confirms that this only works without recovery the first time. Next time checkout is run without removing the cartridge of the first checkout out of the EE port TSM needs to retry as it gets completion code 315 (destination element full) when trying to use element 16. Retry procedure is to increment the element address to 17 and try again. |
