| Event Information | Following information from a newsgroup post may help: "I think I may have resolved my issue. I flashed the Adaptec 1200a with the firmware from highpoint for the 370 chipset (what the 1200a has onboard). Once I flashed the firmware, the event errors stopped. Havent had one since flashing the bios..... However, Nervous about what Stuart said about the drives going corrupt after a failure. I decided to test it... Mind you, Im only using 2 drives in a raid 1 (mirrored) configuration. So, with the server fully booted and running, I pulled the power out of one of the drives and held my breath.. And it worked!... I got an error screen pop, and beep, beep of the card. So, i powered the machine down. hooked the drive back up and Rebooted.... again holding my breath. However, the server booted up, I rebuilt the array and the server came up like a champ!! Never missed a beat...." |
