Event Information | This information from some newsgroups may help you: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Unable to start the Internet Mail Service because the routing table could not be read. Wait a few minutes to allow any routing table updates to complete and then try to start it again. If this problem persists, check the configuration on the Connections and Address Space pages of the Internet Mail Service properties. This issue can be caused by third-party antivirus software services that are currently active, if another program is using the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) port that the information store uses for the corresponding protocol. If a program is already using port 110, 119 or 143, the information store is unable to open these ports for the Post Office Protocol, version 3 (POP3), Network News Transport Protocol (NNTP) or Internet Message Access Protocol, version 4rev1 (IMAP4) protocols respectively. This problem can be caused if the Network Associates GroupShield for Microsoft Exchange virus program is running on the server containing the POP3 mailbox. To resolve this issue, quit the program or service that is using the ports that the information store uses, or configure the program to use different ports.Completely uninstall GroupShield and attempt to connect to Exchange Server using the POP3 client with SSL enabled. After you verify that this is successful, you should be able to re-install GroupShield and have no further problems. 1. Open a command prompt, and then run the following command: netstat -an 2. In the Local Address column, look for an Internet protocol (IP) address and port combination that ends with the port in question. Disabling SSL enables the client to download mail if GroupShield cannot be immediately uninstalled and reinstalled. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
