Event Information | According to Microsoft: CAUSE: This error message appears if all the following conditions are true: 1. You have an administrative installation of Office XP that was updated with a pre-Service Pack 1 administrative update. 2. You are using a network client workstation that installed Office from the administrative installation. 3. You are applying SP-1 to the network client workstation. Office client updates use a binary method to update a file. This means that specific parts of a file are updated. Because of this method, an Office program file that was updated on the client through a full file replacement (an administrative installation) that was already updated with another update cannot be updated by using the SP-1 client update. This is because the file on the administrative image and the file on the client are not the files that a client update (binary update) expects to find. This causes the client update to fail. |
