Event Information | According to Microsoft : Cause : This event is logged when there is no static IP address bound to the DHCP server. Resolution : Configure a static address for the DHCP server To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. To configure TCP/IP for static addressing: 1.At the DHCP server, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Network and Sharing Center, and then click Manage network connections. 2.Right-click the network connection you want to configure, and then click Properties. 3.On the Networking tab, click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then click Properties. 4.Click Use the following IP address, and then type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway. 5.Click Use the following DNS server addresses. 5.In Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server, type the IP addresses for the primary and secondary DNS servers. Verify : To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. To verify that the DHCP server static IP address and bindings are configured correctly, perform the following steps: 1.At the DHCP server computer, click Start, click Run, and then type cmd. 2.Type ipconfig /all to view the IP address configuration of the server. 3.Examine the output. If there is no IP address listed, then the server has not been assigned a static IP address. |
