Description | After reinstall network adapter the following errors may appear on Windows 2003 Server with Virtual Server 2005 R2: Virtual Server could not open its emulated Ethernet switch driver. Access to the external network and host will be unavailable to all guests using the "HP NC7761 Gigabit Server Adapter" adapter. Guests using Virtual Switch will still be able to access other guests using Virtual Switch. |

According to Microsoft : CAUSE : Reinstall the network adapter may un-bind the "Virtual Machine Network Service". SOLUTION : To resolve the following try to use the following options: Option 1: a. Verity that "Virtual Machine Network Service" bind to the reinstall "Network Adapter". b. Reboot the server. Option 2: a. Reinstall "Virtual Machine Network Service" service by installing *.inf files from: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Virtual Server\Drivers\VMNetSv\x86 For Virtual Server 2005 R2 - 32 Bit Edition C:\Program Files\Microsoft Virtual Server\Drivers\VMNetSv\x64 For Virtual Server 2005 R2 - 64 Bit Edition b. Reboot the server. Option 3: a. Backup all your *.VMC and *.VHD files. b. Stop the "Virtual Helper" and "Virtual Server" services. c. Remove Virtual Server from "Add/Remove Program" under the "Control Panel". d. Reboot the server. e. Delete the directories and there contents: "C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Virtual Machine Helper" "C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Virtual Server" "C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Virtual Server Webapp" "C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Shared Virtual Machines" "C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Shared Virtual Networks" "C:\Document and Settings\ f.
