Event Information | According to Microsoft Resolution: The GUID/UUID for client computers that are PC98 or Net PC compliant can in most cases be found in the system BIOS of the computer. Microsoft encourages OEMs to ship either a floppy disk containing a comma separated file or spreadsheet that contains a mapping of computer system serial number to GUID/UUID. This allows you to script prestaging client computers into the Active Directory directory service. Microsoft also encourages the OEMs to post the GUID/UUID on the outside of the computer case for easy identification and prestaging of computer accounts. If the GUID is not found in the above-mentioned locations, you can use a network sniffer to analyze the network traffic of the client, locate the clients DHCP discover packet, and within that field will be the computers 32 byte GUID/UUID |
