DescriptionExchange HTTP Virtual Server Instance 100 (exchange1): Failed to get the protocol IP address and port bindings from the metabase.
Event InformationThis information from some newsgroups may help you:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This issue may occur if one or both of the following conditions are true:
1. The IP address of the cluster nodes was physically changed.
2. The IP address of the Exchange Virtual Server is physically changed. The process of configuring the HTTP protocol through Exchange System Manager it made changes to the MetaBase XML file (configuration). Some how the "ServerBindings" property was removed from Exchange Virtual Server configuration. To resolve the issue I had to shutdown IIS on the inactive node and edit the file in a plain text editor and add the "ServerBindings" property back in with the correct information. After which I restarted the server and failed over the cluster to this node. Making the change on one server affected both so no further work was needed. To resolve this issue, make sure that the protocol resources are updated correctly:
1. In the Cluster Administrator program, make sure that the settings for Network and the new IP addresses on the Parameters tab of all the IP address resources are correct.
2. In Exchange System Manager:
a. Locate the Protocols area under the Exchange Virtual Server that you want to modify.
b. Expand the HTTP, IMAP4, SMTP, and POP3 virtual servers.
c. Open the properties of these virtual servers, and then verify the IP address in the advanced properties.
