Description | Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) network is unreachable. For more information about this event, see ISA Server Help. |
Event Information | According to Microsoft: Cause: The local network system might generate this error if there is no default route configured. Typically though, WinSock generates this error when it receives a "host unreachable" Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) message from a router. Note: This error might also result if you are trying to send a multicast packet and the default gateway does not support multicast (check your interface configuration). Resolution: Investigate routers on local or remote networks to see that they are active and properly configured. Contact your network administrator to confirm the status of the remote host. Try to ping the destination host, to see if you get the same results, which is likely. Check the destination address. Check whether you have a router configured in your network system (your WinSock implementation). Use the tracert command at the command prompt to try to determine where the failure occurs along the route between your host and the destination host. |
