DescriptionThe service failed to start. Verify that the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology service is in the Started state and that the Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Assistants service runs under the Local System account.
Event InformationAccording to Microsoft :
Cause :
This Error event indicates that Microsoft® Exchange Mailbox Assistants service did not start. This event may be caused if one or more of the following conditions are true:
1.The Exchange Active Directory Topology service is not in the Started state.
2.The Mailbox Assistants service is running under an account other thanLocal System Account.
Resolution :
To resolve this error, do one or more of the following:
1.Make sure that Exchange Active Directory Topology service is in the Started state.
2.Make sure that the Mailbox Assistants service runs underLocal System Account. To do this, follow these steps:
(i)Right-click Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Assistants service in the Services console and then click Properties.
(ii)Click the Log On tab.
(iii)Make sure that Local System Account underLog on as is selected.
3.Make sure that there is at least one mailbox database on the Exchange server that logged this event.
4.Increase the diagnostic logging level on Service category of MSExchangeMA service. To do this, follow the steps shown here:
Incorrectly editing the registry can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Problems resulting from editing the registry incorrectly may not be able to be resolved. Before editing the registry, back up any valuable data.
(i)Start Registry Editor (regedit).
(ii).Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeMA\Diagnostics
(iii)In the results pane, change the Value data of the Service key to 5.
(iv)Exit Registry Editor.
(v)Review other related Warning events and Error events in the Application and System log. These related events may help you find the root cause of this event.
