Event Information | According to Microsoft : Cause : This Error event indicates that the component specified in the event description was not installed during Exchange Server 2007 Setup. The error code in the event description provides information about the underlying reason the specific component was not installed. There can be multiple error codes associated with this event. To determine the cause of this Exchange setup failure, review the Exchange setup log files. By default, the logging method for Exchange setup log files is set to verbose. The following provides information about each of the setup log files: 1.ExchangeSetup.log This file tracks the progress of every task that is performed during the Exchange 2007 installation and configuration. The file contains information about the status of the prerequisite and system-readiness checks that are performed before installation starts, the application installation progress, and the configuration changes that are made to the system. Check this log file to verify that the server roles were installed as expected. 2.ExchangeSetup.msilog This file contains information about the extraction of the Exchange 2007 code from the installer file. Resolution : To resolve this installation error, do the following: 1.Review the two Exchange Server setup log files. 2.Use the information in these log files to determine the underlying reason for this error. The Setup application will continue where it left off. |
