Following information from newsgroup post may help: "If the problem occurs after changing the computer name in a LAN, this can be solved by disconnecting the mapped drives and shares. This can accomplished through windows explorer- Tools menu- Disconnect Network Drive." ------------------------------------ "Since DCOM could be a lot of different things, I took an error message itself with a string of numbers and letters and copied into a search in the registry. That narrowed down where the problem was. In my case it was related to an HP printers looking for unavailable printer in a remote site." ------------------------------------ "The reason was the printer on other computer that was shared but shutdown. Deleting the printer from the printers tab fix this problem." ------------------------------------ "Event Message: DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer xxxx.yyyyy.com using any of the configures protocols. The actual problem was that our mail server was band by xxxx.yyyyy.com mail server." |
