Event Id | 10005 |
Source | Winsock |
Description | Host was not found. For more information about this event, see ISA Server Help. |
Event Information | Explanation: The name you have used is not an official hostname or alias. Most WinSock implementations use domain name system (DNS) protocol for hostname to address resolution, although a few use Network Information System (NIS). Assuming you have a name server configured instead of or as well as a host table, a hostname resolution request causes a WinSock DLL to send an address query to the configured DNS server. If you have more than one server configured, the hostname query fails only after the WinSock DLL has queried all servers. User Action: Check that you have a name server and/or host table configured. If you have a name server, use Ping to check that the server host is available. Check that DNS/NIS is running by trying to resolve another hostname you know should work. If you have using a host table exclusively, add the destination hostname and address to the table. |
