When you try to install the Microsoft Windows Automatic Update Client, the installation does not succeed, and you may receive the following error message: Microsoft Windows Update Auto Update requires Windows 2000 SP2 or Windows XP. Additionally, EventID 10000,11708 entries from MsiInstaller may be logged in the application log. CAUSE : The behavior occurs because the Automatic Update Client is already installed on the operating systems . The Automatic Update Client can only be installed on the following operating systems: Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 2 (SP2) Windows 2000 Server SP2 Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP2 Windows XP Professional (without SP1) Windows XP Home Edition (without SP1) |
