| Event Information | SITUATION: You have Norton Internet Security 2002 (NIS), or Norton Internet Security Professional 2002 (NIS Pro), or Norton Personal Firewall 2002 (NPF) installed on Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000, or Windows XP. In the application log in the Windows Event Viewer, you see an event listed for SymProxySvc and you want to know whether the event indicates a problem. SOLUTION: This event does not indicate an error or problem with NIS, NIS Pro, or NPF. The event only indicates that the Symantec Transparent Proxy Server (SymProxySvc.Exe) has been started correctly.
