Event Information | "According to Symantec : CAUSE This problem occurs when two values are absent from the Bmiconfig.xml file. RESOLUTION To fix the problem, manually add the missing values to the Bmiconfig.xml file. To add the missing values to the Bmiconfig.xml file In a text editor (such as Notepad.exe), open the Bmiconfig.xml file The following path is the default path for the Bmiconfig.xml file: C:\Program Files\Symantec\SMSMSE\4.6\Server\SpamPrevention\Bmiconfig.xml Do not use a word processor such as WordPad to open the file. Word processors can alter the file format and cause the file to become unusable. Find the following line: <installation xmlns:xsi=""http:/ /www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"" os=""$INSTALLOS$"" arch=""INSTALLARCH$"" version=""2.0.0.2""> After the line that you found in step 2, insert the following two lines: <productName>SMSMSE</productName> <productVersion>4.6.x</productVersion> When you type the <productName>, be sure to match the case as it is displayed. Save your changes, and exit the text editor. Symantec Premium AntiSpam is now enabled and should receive updates correctly. " |
