Event Information | According to Symantec: Solution: The Event Log entry indicates a problem with the Notifications/Alerts field, Computers and Users to notify. The log entry shows a user entered using the syntax of name@domain.com. This field should only contain computer names and users in the form of <server name> and <user>. Where <server name> is the name of a server like xyz@symantec.com and <user> is a user like John_Smith. To check the Computers and Users to notify field Open the Symantec Mail Security Web interface. In the left pane, click Configuration > Notifications/Alerts Settings. In the right pane under Notifications/Alerts Settings check the "Computers and Users to notify" field for users in the form of user@domain.com. Change any entries of user@domain.com to "user." For example, the field contains John_Smith@domain.com, change the entry to John_Smith. On Windows Server 2003 installations make sure the messenger service is started. This error message can also be caused by having the Windows Messenger service turned off on the server listed in the notification screen for Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange. |
