SourceSchannel
DescriptionThe certificate received from the remote server was issued by an untrusted certificate authority. Because of this, none of the data contained in the certificate can be validated. The SSL connection request has failed. The attached data contains the server certificate.
Event InformationAccording to Microsoft:
CAUSE:
This problem occurs because the certificate that the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server sends is self-signed. When the Schannel.dll file tries to authenticate the certificate, it cannot find the certification authority (CA) certificate of the issuing CA in its Trusted Root Certification Authorities store. When you use an SSL connection, Schannel.dll tries to verify the certificate that is sent by the LDAP server even if you have used the LDAP_OPT_SERVER_CERTIFICATE option to define your own server certificate validation routine.
RESOLUTION:
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows XP.A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem.Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
