DescriptionThe Exchange ActiveSync user %1 has specified an invalid SMTP device address %2 on their device. The user will not be able to receive up-to-date notifications on their device until the correct SMTP address is entered on their device. To fix this problem, tell the user to enter the correct SMTP address on the device and then synchronize the device with their Exchange server using ActiveSync.

CAUSE:
This Warning event occurs when the following conditions are true:
The user tries to use the Always up-to-date (AUTD) notification feature of Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync®.
The user has incorrectly configured the SMTP device address for their device.
The event description identifies the name of the user and the incorrect SMTP device address. In most cases, this event indicates that the mobile device user was unable to successfully synchronize their mobile device with the computer that is running Exchange Server 2003.

RESOLUTION:
To resolve this error, make sure that the user specified in the event description has correctly configured the SMTP address on their device.

1. To configure the SMTP device address on a Smartphone
2. On the mobile device, click Start, click Settings, click More, and then click Owner Information.
3. In E-mail Address, make sure that the e-mail address is correct. The format of the e-mail address should be <10-digit telephone number>@<Carrier name><.Ext>.
