DescriptionServer for NFS could not obtain mapping information from User Name Mapping. Server for NFS will make another attempt after %2 minutes. Without any mapping information, Server for NFS will not be able grant file access to users. Verify the User Name Mapping service is started on the User Name Mapping server, and User Name Mapping ports are open on firewalls.

This event is logged when Server for NFS could not obtain mapping information from User Name Mapping.

Resolution :

Configure Services for NFS to use an identity mapping source

To configure Services for NFS to use an identity mapping source:
  1. Open an elevated Command Prompt window. Click Start , point to All Programs , click Accessories , right-click Command Prompt , and then click Run as administrator .
  2. Type nfsadmin mapping to display and configure identity mapping settings.
Verify :

To verify Services for NFS is properly configured for User Name Mapping:
  1. Open a command prompt with elevated privileges. Click Start , point to All Programs , click Accessories , right-click Command Prompt , and then click Run as administrator .
  2. Type nfsadmin mapping .
  3. Verify that the Mapping Service field in the list displays your installed LDAP service.
